White Castle

I love White Castle.
Crazy talk, you say. I say nay nay.

Have you ever had breakfast at White Castle?
Well, then shut up.

Not many people under 50 years of age know that White Castle offers breakfast. Not many people of any age realize that this family owned company has very good food. It may not be what you are used to, but very good, nonetheless.

I told a friend that I ate at White Castle. She said: “Are the Sliders made of real meat?” I said yes. If you order the beef you get beef. If you order the chicken you get chicken. The onion chips are made of onions. I think White Castle needs to advertise to a younger audience.

Today I ordered 2, Breakfast Sliders @ $1.49 each, and a small coffee @ $.99.
The eggs are cooked fresh on the griddle and lovingly folded to fit onto the tiny slider bun. Next the cheese is put on and underneath it all is your choice of the original slider beef patty with onions, or a sausage patty, or bacon! If no breakfast meat is desired then the sandwich now only sets you back $1.19 a piece.
She Who Must Be Obeyed ordered a Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich on Wholewheat Toast for $2.19, plus a $.99 coffee. Because I look so old, we got a senior discount.

They also offer Breakfast Combos with one or two eggs, a breakfast meat of your choice, toast, and hash brown nibblers. They cook the eggs to order! Fresh, Hot!
The sandwiches are hot, fresh, and quick to the table. I just love it when they call my name and say: “Ben your breakfast is ready”.

The food is great! Inexpensive and tasty too.

I am a coffee geek.
The White Castle Coffee is very good when it is freshly brewed. If it has sat for ages it tastes like hot stainless steel. That is what I got this morning. Stainless steel in a paper cup. I drink it black, so any anomaly is noted and rejected. After one slurp, and a lull in the breakfast traffic, I walked back to the counter and told the nice redheaded Rebecca that the coffee was not up to snuff. I communicated this by making that face children make when things taste yucky. She understood, apologized and poured me a cup from the fresh pot.
Back at the table I tasted it. The planets aligned and all was right in my universe. My 2nd Breakfast Slider disappeared, and was washed away with some good coffee.

I may have lunch at White Castle today, but that may be considered obsessive by some.

Do any of you remember the Belgian Waffles that White Castle had for a while? I am swooning just thinking about how good they were. They were the best. BensBest. Me hopes they come back soon.

Be sure to make reservations to have Valentine’s Day dinner at White Castle with your dream date. I think they start taking them in January. Mood lighting, table service, and a chance to share your crave with the one you love.
